At Paper World, it all began with a love of preserving the everyday stories that were never meant to last. Postcards, magazines and newspapers that captured the rhythm of daily life.

In the late 1980s, a simple idea took shape: to rescue original newspapers that libraries no longer needed and make them available as unique, one-of-a-kind gifts. What started as a small collection grew quickly, as volumes were carefully gathered from libraries and private collectors across Australia and New Zealand.

By the mid-1990s, the service had launched in Melbourne, soon expanding nationwide. Today, Paper World holds an extraordinary archive of around 850,000 original newspapers, carefully preserved across multiple warehouses and available to browse online.
